Qatari Diar had a vision for creating a national convention centre in Doha that could house not only major exhibitions attractive to visitors from all over the world, but also host conventions that were of global significance for heads of state and UN delegates.

This vast building comprises of two key areas - a five-hall exhibition area and a convention centre that includes a multi-function hall, a grand ballroom and media boxes.

Its connection with the city was key and one of our main challenges was to future proof the wayfinding system to integrate a new metro station at its entrance, drop off areas and up to 5000 cars.

Working together with architects JAHN and Pentagram Design we developed a comprehensive wayfinding strategy that considered the various event configurations and advertising requirements that impact upon the routes in and around the site and the car parking priorities.

We completed all the technical detailing and finalised the sign locations and message schedules, listing some 2,500 signs throughout the enormous building.
