Right on track, Dubai Tram opens

Inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, it is one of the region’s most high profile transportation programmes.

Endpoint worked with the main contractor Besix creating the wayfinding strategy and sign design across all 11 tram stations and the depot. Interpreting the existing Metro guidelines to work for the tram system, we have created a consistent wayfinding experience that will help people navigate the network easily and put them at ease when travelling.

The Dubai Tram system has been designed to be an integral part of the Dubai transport network, linking the Dubai Metro and the Palm Monorail. It is the world’s first tram network to use platform screen doors at stations and runs for 14.5 kilometres (9.0 mi) along Al Sufouh Road from Dubai Marina.

It will carry an estimated 27,000 daily passengers, reaching a predicted 66,000 passengers daily by 2020.
