Arun Rajendran

Junior Wayfinding Designer

An architect who loves signs, my graphic design curiosity led me to wayfinding and information design. I like to think of architecture as ‘music’ and wayfinding as its ‘notations’.

After a spell working in the UK, I landed in Dubai and soon began working on bilingual wayfinding projects – for retail, hotels, mixed-use towers, and residential communities. Some of my past clients include: Cityland Mall, Dubai; Hotel Indigo, Dubai; Rotana Saadiyat; and Al Ain Square

I enjoy wearing a variety of professional ‘hats’ – as a thinker, designer, and researcher – and am particularly interested in multilingual and cross-cultural communication, inclusive wayfinding, and the use of emerging technologies.

Outside of work, I enjoy swimming, exploring, and creating abstract photos of urban and rural landscapes. I’m also a keen chef – and like nothing more than donning an apron and whipping up some tasty treats!
