Endpoint wayfinding strategy wins SEGD Global Design Award

Endpoint took home another award for its wayfinding strategy – for world-famous London department store, Harrods.

Our wayfinding strategy for Harrods received a Merit Award in the 2019 SEGD Global Design Awards – which recognises the very best in experiential graphic design. Our Co-founder Gideon Wilkinson and Managing Director of our Dubai studio Peter Krikhaar were there to pick up the prestigious awards on June 8, which rounded off the 3-day annual SEGD conference, held in Austin, Texas, US.

A winner in the Strategy, Research, and Planning category, our Harrods wayfinding project was one of only 31 projects to win among some 340 worldwide entries.

Working closely with Pentagram, our wayfinding team helped improve navigation and flow across Harrods’ 120-year-old, five-acre flagship store; also working within stringent quality-focused brand guidelines to create a museum-style wayfinding strategy befitting of the iconic Knightsbridge landmark.

Feedback from the jury panel about our entry was extremely positive. They described our work as “A very comprehensive report and wonderfully packaged presentation of mass amounts of information."

They also commented: "It’s an overwhelming task distilled into digestive information of planning, strategy and function."

This is the second time we’ve been feted for our Harrods’ work – we also won at last year’s Transforms Awards Europe.
