Santander – Multi-site rebrand

Introducing a new banking giant to the British High Street

View

Santander is one of the most recognisable banking brands in the world – the largest in the eurozone by market capitalisation.

Following their acquisition of a number of UK retail banking brands in 2010, of which Abbey was one, we were chosen to help unite all 700+ branches under the single Santander brand. One powerful new voice, for an expanding banking brand.

A new era for Santander

The Santander branch network now speaks with one single, powerful voice and shortly after the rebrand, was ranked first as the most valuable global retail banking brand.

We completed the transition to the new brand within six months – an extraordinary achievement given the size of the rebrand. It involved over 700 branches and ATMs across the UK and Ireland.

The new look branches were revealed over three weekends – with a little help from Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton – to achieve maximum impact.

Delivered the brand with quality and cost certainty within a tight timeframe

We put our best people on the case and put together a fast track programme. Meticulously planned and project managed, our scope included site surveys, brand schemes, procurement, statutory applications, supply chain management and supervision of the installations. All was delivered on time and on budget, to exceptionally high standards.

Endpoint played a crucial role in managing the transformation of Abbey to Santander. Rebranding 722 branches and ATMs within 6 months with a high profile reveal over 3 weekends was an ambitious implementation programme. Endpoint’s diligence and competence meant that high standards, cost efficiency and punctuality were achieved.
