We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented, full-time Business Development Exec to join our team. You will play a crucial role in supporting our business development and marketing functions, from identifying and reacting to new business opportunities, fostering relationships, producing compelling bids and proposals and contributing to our overall business strategy and success. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation: Recognising and reacting to potential leads, be they from inbound enquiries, industry digital outreach, existing client development opportunities or networking. This is not a cold-calling sales role, although some telephone enquiries may be required at times.

Proposal Development: Prepare compelling proposals and presentations to showcase the firm's capabilities working closely with the design team and company directors. Create tailored proposals (from our extensive templates and assets) to address client needs and showcase the unique value of our wayfinding solutions, ensuring all deadlines are met and requirements are fulfilled.

Research & Professional Development: Stay informed about industry trends, market changes and new technologies to contribute valuable insights during the bid preparation process. Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and networking events to expand your professional knowledge and widen your network.

CRM Management: Maintain accurate details of leads, sales activities, client interactions, and bid information in our CRM system. Prepare regular reports on business development progress and present findings to the management team.

Brand Management: Ensure all bid-related documentation and outbound communications adhere to company branding and quality standards.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with our internal design, marketing, and project management teams to ensure seamless proposal delivery. Facilitate effective communication with external stakeholders during the bid process and serve as a point of contact for inquiries related to bids and proposals. Provide feedback on trends and client needs to enhance our service offerings.

Skills & Experience

  • Candidates must be confident communicators, skilled and experienced at developing relationships with directors and internal teams, with an ability to coordinate the activities of multiple people efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the design or architecture industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently under the pressure of strict deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and super organised.
  • A high level of attention to detail, concentration and a commitment to producing high-quality bid proposals.
  • A professional and approachable attitude plus an appreciation for design and the creative industries is important.

Software

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Adobe InDesign proficiency is ideal but not essential.
  • Experience of cloud-based CRM systems, document sharing and collaboration tools, useful.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years’ experience
  • Degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field
