All eyes will be on Lusail throughout the global FIFA tournament when it begins in November 2022. Located just outside the Qatar capital Doha, this brand new, purpose-built 80,000 capacity football stadium will host the final and closing ceremony.
Master planned by Foster + Partners, the stadium’s construction is a joint effort between a number of international experts. It was engineered by Aurecon, and delivered by sports architect, AFL who also worked on stadiums for the 2010 and 2018 World Cup tournaments.
AFL appointed Endpoint to take the lead on stadium wayfinding and signage. As part of efforts to create a world-class visitor experience, our team designed no less than 22,500 signs.
In August 2022, Lusail Iconic Stadium earned a five-star rating under the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS), administered by the Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD). For the entire Endpoint team, it’s been an honour to work on such a high calibre, globally visible project.
